Daniele Galliano

Rare-Facto

October 2016 In Contemporanea

Rare-Facto

The exhibition, curated by Flavio Arensi, presents a series of oils, collages and watercolors by Daniele Galliano, one of the main protagonists of the Italian painting scene. The exhibition is part of the In Contemporanea initiative, the exhibition itinerary that, throughout the month of October 2016, unites seven modern and contemporary art galleries in the city, in collaboration with the Civic Museums and the Municipality of Reggio Emilia.
After the personal exhibitions of Pietro Masturzo and the homage to the collaboration between Luigi Ghirri and Omar Galliani, from October 1st, Vicolo Folletto Art Factories (Reggio Emilia, Vicolo Folletto, 1) hosts the personal exhibition of Daniele Galliano (Naples, 1961) considered among the reference figures of the Italian pictorial scene after its debut in the 90s, when it immediately stood out for its technical qualities and subjects of great expressive force.
The exhibition in the gallery offers a composition of 60 watercolors on paper from the Stars series, 5 oils on canvas and 1 collage, completing the large composite work As in heaven so on earth, exhibited at the Galleria Fontanesi of the Reggio Civic Museums. Emilia, where In Contemporanea at the Museum will be set up, a collective exhibition dedicated to the individual authors presented by the various galleries participating in the In Contemporanea initiative.
Daniele Galliano's exhibition presents a series of works that derive from the complex theme of the Constellations, in which the human masses are painted from a raised point of view, overturning the observer's observation space with respect to the sky. Over time, these infinite and repeated presences find pictorial moments of pause, a sort of rarefaction and distance even in their participation in a mass. The works, already exhibited in public exhibitions in South America and Morocco, are presented for the first time in Italy as a unitary corpus.
