Sten and Lex meet in a small street in the center of Rome and start their artistic partnership in 2001, when what we know today as street art , in Italy, is in its infancy.
 Since 2009 they have been protagonists of the main international urban art festivals with large-scale interventions from the USA to China, passing through Europe.
 But in addition to the official activity with public and private bodies, they have always maintained a constant spontaneous production, on the street and in abandoned places. This latter feature has allowed them to maintain purity in research and independence from the tastes of the public, so much so that between 2012 and 2013, at the most successful moment due to the creation of interventions that interpreted large realistic images (anonymous photos of the 1960s), they decided to abandon the figurative for a more complex abstract research.
 They are among the few artists to have been able to evolve in the use of the stencil , usually a mere tool of artistic craftsmanship, transforming it into a work of art, using the matrix as a pictorial material (leaving it affixed during and after the intervention) and the clipping as a pictorial mark.
